karlormarcIt’s only a matter of choosing between the two most revered men in the design world but if you could only choose one would it be Karl with Chanel or Marc with Louis Vuitton.  For Fall ’09 Karl Lagerfeld plays homage to classic Chanel with a simple color palete and poised silhoettes.  Marc Jacobs continues to bring back the 80’s in full force while Karl would prefer to never see the ’80s again.  So which is more your cup of tea an elegant cocktail social or ‘80s party with all the cool girls.

balmainThe man behind Balmain, Christophe Decarnin, has reinvented the label and put out collections that make editors, fans and buyers craving more. Even Cathy Horn proclaimed, “Balmain has become the label of the supercool girls. Elegant trash is the specialty du jour at Balmain, where Christophe Decarnin has become the ‘It’ designer for pretty young things.”

gossipgirlGossip Girl has taken over television waves and the wardrobes of Serena, Blair and Jenny have been emulated by fans everywhere. Not only has the show helped heighten Lorick, the line used for Eleanor Waldorf’s collection but the evolving uptown and downtown looks on set have initiated girls to scour and replicate styles from the GG cast.

It’s harder than ever for young girls to stand out in the modeling world with herds of fresh new faces appearing on the runways each season. Coco Rocha stands out with her quirky attitude and Irish dance skills that she first demonstrated way back in ’07 for Gaultier’s runway. Rocha is an American Vogue favorite and has modeled for the best including Balenciaga, Lanvin and Chanel.cr

The tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company’s iconic 2.55 quilted bag was previously in Tokyo and Hong Kong.chanelmobilart

Regardless of what Rachel Zoe critics say, The Rachel Zoe Project has opened the doors to a rather likable person. Zoe has guided and given opportunities to many people that have crossed her path, shedding light that she is a rather giving person with a huge fashion addiction and a uniform of designer vintage, oversized sunglasses and crazy furs.

Iosselliani

Iosselliani designs to say the least have an enchanting appeal and it’s easy to want every piece from the collection. Paolo Giacomelli from Rome is the designer behind the line that can be found at some of the best stores in NYC including Aloha Rag, Zoe and Otte. Paolo uses a lot of silver with gold as an accent in the main collection. His designs focus on stacking rings and layering chains with crystals and pearls that capture light. Along with the layering, Iosselliani is recognizable from the use of panthers and snakes with glaring eyes.
